There will be two polls running, one for boy names and one for girl names, I will start off the poll with 3 names...you can either vote for any from the list or add your own name to the list! Any names added to the poll will not be visible to the open public which I didn't realize at first, but I will be able to view them so they will remain secret and could possibly be chosen!

1.14 - Foundation for a Family
3 Weeks Later...
“What about this one…a two story, 3 bedroom, 3 and a half bath, with nursery and study. A large living, dining room, kitchen, two car garage and extra storage in basement. Fenced in yard with balcony views of the city.” Everett said as he read from the real estate section of the morning paper.
“Sounds perfect.” Amiee said as she scooped up Nathan from the floor.
“Views of the city though…where exactly is it?” Amiee asked.
“Just across the river…umm…on Silverstone Drive, just off of Windsor.” Everett replied, scanning the ad again for the address.
“Ooo, that is a nice neighborhood, pricey but nice…do I even dare ask how much they are asking.” Amiee said. The neighborhood across the river was pricey indeed, it is where all the big shots and the hot shots in the city lived, but it is the safety and security of being secluded from the city that you really pay for –not to mention the amazing views at night.
“It’s cheap…for the neighborhood.” Everett said trying to sound convincing.
“It’s in foreclosure.” He added.
“How much?” Amiee asked again.
“Half a million.” Everett replied crisply.
“HALF A WHAT!” Amiee exclaimed nearly choking on her own saliva.
“I think it is still worth taking a look at…I know it’s a lot of money but it is exactly what we are looking for…” Everett tried to reason with Amiee.
“I understand that…but the question is…can we afford it?” Amiee asked.
“Don’t worry about whether or not we can afford it…if you fall in love with it…I will find a way.” Everett replied.
“I have to get Nathan home, he has a video chat with Anna this afternoon…I will call an agent and get us in to have a look at it tomorrow. We have to get a place Amiee…I don’t think I could handle living apart from you for another moment.” Everett said to her.
“It is driving me insane.” He added.
“I know…me too.” Amiee replied as she kissed him sweetly on his lips and then kissing Nathan’s forehead.
“I love you...both” She said as she walked them out the door.
The met their agent, Mrs. Bradford, outside of the house early the next morning.
“Thank you for letting us take a look at the house on such short notice.” Everett said as Amiee rested Nathan on her hip.
“Not a problem…there has been a lot of interest in the house since it came on the market…so shall we go inside and have a look? “ Mrs. Bradford said with a warm smile.
“After you.” Everett politely said.
They slowly walked up the narrow stone path to the front porch of the house. Amiee looked around and instantly fell in love with the landscaping. The house was quite large…maybe too large in her opinion, but it had charm.
“The office is just to the left and the living room to the right and a half bath just before the kitchen.” Mrs. Bradford said as they peaked their heads in each room on the way to the kitchen.
“And the heart of the house…the kitchen.” Mrs. Bradford said.
“It is a galley style kitchen with wood cabinetry, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. It also has hand laid stone backsplashes as well.” She added. Everett looked around as Amiee remained quiet, standing in front of the window above the sink.
She stared out of the window and over the river to the beautiful view of the city. She was still so close to her home now, yet still so far away. She liked the hustle and bustle of the city, and it is why she came here from her small town. Was she really ready to give it all up again?
But as she concentrated what she saw in the window was no longer the city at a distance, it was a young woman staring back at her with the cutest little boy tucked in her arms and nestled against her chest. It was a woman who had been satisfied with life since she arrived in Bridgeport. And it was a woman that was ready to settle down with her new family and carve a path of her own in life.
“I love it Everett, I think we should make an offer!” Amiee said as she turned to face her husband.
“Are you sure? I don’t want you to make a decision so quickly without thinking it over.” Everett said, surprised by her demeanor.
“I have never been so sure about anything in my life Everett…maybe except when I married you.” She replied with a warm smile. Mrs. Bradford was clapping and squealing with excitement.
“So shall we draw up the paperwork?” She asked turning to Everett.
“Well if it is what my beautiful wife wants…where do I sign?” He said smiling back at Amiee.
In her heart of hearts Amiee knew that this would be the perfect house for them. There was enough space for them and for Nathan and for any other additions to the house in the future. And the views were spectacular…it didn’t really get any better than this.
Three Months later...
The sellers had accepted their offer on the house and after all the I’s were dotted and t’s crossed on the paperwork Amiee and Everett began to move in. After a long day of hauling boxes and furniture Amiee stood on the back porch gazing into the lights from the city.
“Beautiful isn’t it?” Everett whispered into his ear as he joined her on the balcony. He wrapped his arms around her and nestled his nose into her neck, kissing her softly.
“It is.” Amiee replied.
“Is something wrong? You haven’t been yourself lately…” Everett asked Amiee as he spun her around, filling his hands with her face.
“Yes, I am just exhausted…moving is stressful…” Amiee replied. Everett examined her for a moment.
“What else is going on?” he asked. He knew his wife better than she thought. Amiee turned her head away from his lowering it slowly.
“I’m pregnant.” She whispered. Everett froze.
“You’re…you’re…OH MY GOD…this is wonderful news! I am going to be a father again!” Everett shouted with excitement. He noticed that Amiee didn’t share his same enthusiasm.
“Is that what you are worried about?” Everett asked her, quickly changing his demeanor.
“Don’t get me wrong I am excited too, but I wish it came at a less stressful time is all, we just moved and we have so many new bills and money is going to be tight for a while…I didn’t think you would take it so well” Amiee said.
“Are you kidding me!” Everett shrieked.
“This is great news!” He added.
“You have nothing to worry about Amiee…I will be here for you, whenever you feel like this you can talk to me you know…don’t ever feel like you can’t.” He said to her lifting her head until her eyes met with his.
“How long have you known?” He asked her.
“I just found out…when I thought that I might be, I went to the doctors just to be sure before I said anything…turns out I was.” Amiee said with a smile.
“How far along are we?” He asked her.
“Almost four months.” She replied.
“Wow…that means on our…” He began to say as he was figuring out the timeline.
“Our wedding night.” She interrupted.
“SCORE!” Everett shouted.
“I am the man!” He added laughing. Amiee let out a boisterous laugh, just before he scooped her into his arms for a passionate kiss.

Amiee and Everett's Wedding Special
Everett stood at the altar, an anxious smile spread from ear to ear on his face; the cool evening breeze blew through his hair as he folded his hand in front of himself, patiently waiting. He expected to be much more nervous that he felt. He was cool, calm and collected as he waited for his bride to appear from the lush greenery that surrounded the little make-shift wedding site.
When she appeared, if it was even possible, his smile grew larger, his eyes widened and his heart had skipped a beat. She was breathtaking.
Amiee walked down the aisle slowly, a single red rose in her hand, symbolic of the first thing that Everett had ever given her, ironically plucked from the man’s garden just up the road from her apartment building. She had called the man and explained it all to him and he was kind enough to overnight to her.
She paced herself, trying to keep her mind clear and her eyes on her husband to be. She flashed a smile at him as she made her way to him.
Everett smiled bashfully as she joined him under the arch.
He placed her hands in his and leaned in, softly kissing her cheek and whispering into her ear.
“You look stunning.” He said to her just before his lips made contact with the soft and smooth skin of her cheek.
“You clean up pretty well yourself.” She whispered back. They had almost forgotten that the minister was standing there before them behind the podium as he coughed to get their attention.
“Everett and Amiee, today you enter and stand before God and myself as individuals, but you will leave as husband and wife, blending your lives, expanding your family ties, and embarking upon the grandest adventure of human interaction. The story of your life together is still yours to write. Everett and Amiee, you stand here before God and myself to witness and celebrate your love and commitment on this day - eager to a part of the story not yet told." The minister began as Everett and Amiee joined hands before him.
"Marriage is more than joining the bonds of two persons; it is the union of two hearts. It lives on the love you give each other and never grows old, but thrives on the joy of each new day. Marriage is love. May you always be able to talk things over, to confide in each other, to laugh with each other, to enjoy life together, and to share moments of quiet and peace, when the day is done. May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness and a home of warmth and understanding."
"Do you Everett, take Amiee to be your wife, your life mate and one true love, promising to share in all that life offers and suffers, to be there for her in times of need, and in times of pain, and to support her in all endeavors, big and small for as long as you both shall love?” The Minister said turning to Everett.
“I Everett take you Amiee to be my wife, my life mate and my one true love, promising to share in all that life offers and suffers, to be there for you in times of need, and in times of pain, and to support you in all endeavors, big and small for as long as we both shall love.” Everett repeated as he raised his hand and gently wiped away the stray tears that were lightly falling from her eyes.
"Do you Amiee, take Everett to be your husband, your partner in life, to respect him in his successes and as well in his failures, to care for him in sickness and in health, to nurture him, and to grow with him for as long as you both shall love?” The Minister said now turning to Amiee.
“I Amiee take you Everett, to be my husband, my partner in life, to respect you in your successes and as well in your failures, to care for you in sickness and in health, to nurture you, and to grow with you for as long as we both shall love.” Amiee repeated, wiping the tears from her own eyes as Everett dropped his head to wipe his as well.
"Amiee, my love, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. Let it be a reminder that I am always by your side and that I will always be a faithful partner to you. This most precious metal symbolizes that your love is the most precious element in my life. The ring has no beginning and no ending, which symbolizes that the love between us will never cease.” Everett said as he placed Amiee’s hand in his and slipped the ring gently on her finger.
"Everett, my love, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. I give you this ring, as I give to you all that I am, and accept from you, all that you are. This most precious metal symbolizes that your love is the most precious element in my life. The ring has no beginning and no ending, which symbolizes that the love between us will never cease.” Amiee said she slipped her ring on his finger.
They placed their hands upon one another’s, smiles lighting up their faces, as the Minister declared their marriage.
“By the power vested in me, and before the eyes of God, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride.” He said.
Without hesitation Everett pulled Amiee into his arms, pressing his lips hard against hers. Suddenly everything around them faded, and it was just the two of them, the moonlight, the beautiful backdrop of the Eiffel tower behind them and the sounds of their heart now beating in unison. Nothing else in the world at this moment mattered.
