Legacy Rules I Have Set For Myself

I have always wanted to try my hand at a legacy, but being a storyteller who is quite used to using cheats I felt it was a little too restricting for me and that I would probably get bored with it. So I decided to start a legacy of my own, something more storyline friendly and plot based, of course with an adaptation to legacy rules, fine tuning it to suit my needs.

So I guess I would call this a  Plotacy! Sorry if the term has been used, I am not trying to copy or steal anyones ideas. I am just going with the flow and finding the best way for me to successfully complete this legacy.

I have set down myself some basic rules to go by as I play out this legacy which are adapted from the original legacy challenge rules and are as follows.

Starting with a founder I have created I will continue on through ten generations, maybe more if I so choose.

Cheats not allowed for myself:

No money cheats.
No mood altering cheats.
No altering relationships.
No altering traits.
Anything else of that sort.

Cheats that are allowed myself. (for the purpose of storytelling)

Move objects cheats
Posing and animation cheats with mods.

Cannot have food/garden items to give myself an unfair advantage.

No Life Fruit.
No Ambrosia.
No Death Flowers.

Game play rules I have set for myself.

~ Sims can start out in any home/apartment so long as they can afford it.
~ Aging up through birthday cake, only when prompted by the game.
~ Sims can sell any items they make or acquire, legally or illegally.

Choosing My Traits.

~ The heir(ess) must have Family Orientated Trait and one other trait of their parent.
~ The trait chosen from the parent can be different each generation as so long as it is one the parent has (other than the Family Orientated trait).
~ The remaining 3 traits can be randomly chosen or hand picked.

My Heir(ess') Rules.

~ Heir(ess') can be either gender and may choose to sell the home after they have taken over the family.
~ Heir(ess') may move to a new home in the same neighborhood only.Only the founder may start in a different neighborhood and move to a new one so long as he/she has not already produced a potential heir(ess). This includes being pregnant, unless the father/mother moves with them. Once a potential heir(ess) is born a move to a new neighborhood is no longer allowed.
~ Heir(ess') must remain in the same household in order to be eligible to take over the family.
~ Heir(ess') do not have to be married in order to produce new
heir(ess') for the next generation.
~ Heir(ess') siblings may take over if for any reason the current
heir(ess') dies. If there is no sibling the challenge is over and have failed.
~ Heir(ess') that have been moved out of the house, cannot be moved back in unless as stated above.

Sims outside of My legacy family.

~ Sims can be moved in and out of the family strictly for storytelling purposes only.
~ Sims outside of the family may not continue on the family legacy. This includes adoptions.
~ The current legacy sim may move sims in and out as they so wish (boyfriends, girlfriends).

Death.

~ Sims who die while on the family lot can be left to use as ghosts or may be moved to a cemetery.
~ Sims cannot be resurrected by any means, not through science facility, grim reaper or death flowers (already mentioned above).

My Divorce and Breakups.

~ Once the legacy sim divorces or breaks up with the parent of an heir(ess) the divorced/broken party must leave the home immediately and entered back into the neighborhood.
~ If a child of that divorcee/broken party is chosen to move with the party, they are not eligible to continue on the family legacy, unless stated above.

Storyline.

~ Each generation must have a plot/storyline that is different from the last.
~ The heir(ess) must set themselves two goals to work towards throughout their life. They may complete them or they may not.

These are some basic rules I have set for myself for game play. If I have forgotten anything I will add it later to my list. This isn't an official legacy as I have stated before, so please no "you stole my idea, copied me...etc" It is something I have adapted to fit and suit my gameplay without letting myself lose interest. However if you feel like you would like to give it a go with these rules...by all means have a go at it!
