On Hold...

Sadly I must put not only The Sullivans but Kiss Me Deadly as well on hold for a little while. This summer has been so extremely busy (and hot)  that I haven't had the time nor the desire to update. Though it has given me some time here and there to finish up some CC that has been half finished for a while. I have opened up a new site that contains a handful or more of those CC items I have been able to finish up you can go to my site here: NyGirl Sims. Right now there is only some YA/Adult and Teen items but I hope to expand into children and toddler items as well in the future.

I will be back and writing as soon as the summer load lets up a little bit! I deeply apologize for any readers who have been waiting for updates.

2.2 - Deception

WARNING: COURSE LANGUAGE AND ADULT SITUATIONS READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!

“Six months Mason…six months is all you have.” Matthew said as he led Mason into the spare room.

“I swear Matty I will be out in six months, why the rush anyway?” Mason said giving Matthew a sly grin.

“I have decided to sell the house. The new house will not have a spare bedroom…so you need to be gone before I move.” Matthew reiterated.

“But you love this house…” Mason said to Matthew. Ironically, for the first time in years Matthew could have sworn he heard just a little sensitivity in Mason’s words.

“I also love the city…” Matthew replied.

“Six months Mason.” Matthew said again before turning to leave the guest bedroom.

It was nearly midnight when Matthews phone went off…it was a text from Kiara asking him to meet her at Eugi’s in twenty minutes. Matthew quickly got dressed and opted to take the bike out for a spin tonight. The air was warm, the breeze was gentle, not a cloud to be found in the sky. It was a perfect night for riding.

Matthew stood at the entrance to Eugi’s waiting patiently for Kiara. Ten minutes went by…then twenty…soon it was half past midnight and still Kiara had not shown. By quarter to one, he had all but given up. He pulled his phone from his jacket pocket –half-tempted to call her and give her a piece of his mind –instead he flipped it open and with one tap of a button he shut it off before sliding it back into his pocket.

“Well, well…look at what the cat dragged in…how the hell are you Matty?” A soft and familiar voice called from behind the bar as Matthew took a seat. He peered up through the tops of his eyes. Caitlyn Adams –Mason’s ex.

“Hey Cat how are you, haven’t seen you in what…2-3 years?” Matthew asked. He finally looked up and his eyes made contact with hers. She had not changed a bit.

“So how is…” Caitlyn began to say.

“Mason? Well he hasn’t changed in the last few years…” Matthew cut in abruptly.

“Good to know…but that wasn’t what I was going to ask…I seen him last night…he seems to have moved on.” She replied.

“What do you mean…he just got in town this morning…” Matthew said sipping the drink she handed him. She leaned over the bar resting her head in her hands.

“He came in with some skinny brunette chick last night…really beautiful…I can’t remember her name though…Kia…Kara…” Caitlyn struggled to remember her name.

“Kiara?” Matthew asked.

“Yeah that’s it!” Caitlyn said.

“Are you sure about that.” He asked.

“Positive…they looked pretty friendly…well not so much friendly but more like they were a couple or something.” Caitlyn said with a sigh.

“You’re better off without him anyway.” Matthew grumbled.

Matthew threw back his drink, walked around to the back, and picked up the guitar. He almost felt instantly at ease but as he strummed the strings harder and faster to the melody in his head…depression set in.

How fucking long? He asked himself. How long has she been pretending that she could not stand Mason and then turn around not only to be seen in public with him but to be in bed with him too! Mason shook his head as his chords became louder and more violent.

Matthew finished his set, pulled his coat over his shoulders and headed out.

“Hey Sullivan…I get out in five minutes.” Caitlyn called from behind the bar, where she stood leaning on the bar with one hand and wiping the sweat from her forehead with the other. Matthew nodded.

Matthew propped himself against his bike parked just outside the bar. His mind had never wandered so many places at once before. How was he going to go home and look into the eyes of his brother…his family…the one person that is not supposed to betray him. How could he call Kiara and talk to her…after pretending to be appalled by the presence of Mason…but really it was only to hide her attraction for him. Bastards!

“Why the long face…” he heard her voice call through all the confusion and anger. He looked up to see her standing there with her hand on her hip noticeably studying his expression.

“It’s nothing…” He said shaking his head.

“You need a ride home or something?” He asked her trying to quickly change the subject.

“I would greatly appreciate it.” She replied with a smile.

“I only live about two blocks down…would you like to come up for a drink or something…you look like you

could use one.” Caitlyn said as she hopped on the back of the bike. It had suprised Matthew how quickly and easily Caitlyn had hopped on the bike. It took him weeks to be able to get Kiara anywhere near it.

“Yeah, a drink would be nice.” He replied before revving up the bike and peeling out.

“Come on in and make yourself at home…I’ll go mix us up some drinks.” Caitlyn said as they entered her apartment. Matthew took a moment to look around as Caitlyn went and mixed some drinks. It was surprisingly masculine for such a “girly” girl. Then again she had mentioned it was a warehouse conversion and the only affordable place the city had available at the time.

“So why were you so upset about Mason and the brunette chick?” Caitlyn said as she sat down next to Matthew –handing him a drink.

“It’s nothing really…” He said again to her.

“I never understood why you always kept going back to him…what is so great about him anyway?” Matthew said sipping his drink.

“It’s been two years since I saw him last…I think it’s safe to say I am so over him.” Caitlyn replied.

“That’s good…I always thought you were too good for him anyway.” He replied with a smile.

“I need to get going…”Matthew said after one drink turned into…too many. Caitlyn went to stand and walk him out when she stumbled.

“Thanks…that would have been embarrassing…” Caitlyn said as she fell into Matthew, who's arms were open to keep her from hitting the floor. A moment of silence had come over them…though not awkward.

Matthew was not sure exactly what had come over him but he found himself inches from her body, taking in her intoxicating scent, feeling the silky smoothness of the delicate skin that had draped over her bones, and tasting the sweetness that emanated from it. She threw her head back in enjoyment as he continued.

It did not take long for things to escalate. Clothes had seemed to merely melt of their bodies and slither to the floor, without thought.

She had taunted him as she started up the stairs, turning around and posing sexy…he stood there leaned against the banister –watching with wide eyes.

“I’m going to bed now…so you can either let yourself out or you can join me.” She said before turning and continuing upstairs. Matthew stood there for a moment –frozen. Was it just the alcohol talking…

“Cat, where are you?” Matthew said as he ascended the stairs.

“Over here Matty.” He heard her call in a seductive tone. She laid there on the bed resting her head in her hand. He had never seen a woman so beautiful in his life –not even Kiara.

“Cat, maybe I should get you tucked into bed, we both drank way too much tonight…I don’t think that we should take this any further…” Matthew said trying to reason with her. She drew her pointer finger out and began motioning him towards her.

However, before he could rationalize any reactions in his mind he was right there, alongside her, his flesh pressed against hers, sprawled out across the bed.

And soon enough all lingering fragments of rationalization had gone completely out the window as she removed her clothing before him pressing her warm naked body against his.

Matthew woke up the next morning, just as the sun had begun to peer through the windows of Caitlyn’s bedroom.

“Morning sleeping beauty.” He heard her voice call. He looked up to see her hair glistening and slicked back and her body draped with a bath towel. He looked around blinking his eyes, as if when he opened them for the tenth time he would be back at home in his own bed. Oh shit, oh shit, OH SHIT! He hit his head with the palm of his hand.

She stood there at the foot of the bed smiling at him. He sat up slowly, his mind turning and twisting…thinking of what he could possibly say in this situation without being one of "those" guys, that he clearly was not...and had never been.

“Cat, about last night…” he said pausing.

“It was amazing wasn’t it?” She replied with a smile.

“It was but…it…it shouldn’t have happened…we were both drunk…” He began to rationalize again.

“Yes…I might have been drunk but I was aware of what I was doing Matty…I like you…I always have…” She quickly interrupted.

“We both have our own reasons for disliking Mason…and maybe this wasn’t really that way to get around that…” Matthew said.

“What do you mean…wait…is this about…OH MY GOD…that girl he was with…that is your girlfriend isn’t it…OH…it all makes sense now…you did this to get back at him? To give yourself some sort of sick satisfaction that “two can play that game?” Caitlyn said angrily.

“You mean you’re going to stand there and say that none of what happened last night was to get back at him?” Matthew asked.

“I don’t do revenge Matthew…it isn’t my style, and what happened last night obviously means more to me than it did to you!” She said.

“I just thought that you only did it to…” Matthew began to panic…he realized that he had said all the wrong things. He assumed that it had meant nothing to her so he tried to make it seem like it meant nothing to him as well. He did not want to be “that” guy. The one to get all puppy dog eyed on a girl that had let him into her bed.

“And I didn’t think it was your style either…until now…you know you are just like him…you make me sick…get out of my house!” She screamed.

“But Cat…” He said before he was cut off.

“STOP! I don’t want to hear any excuses or reasons to save your ass…just leave.” She said as she held her hand toward him and looked away.

Matthew headed downstairs and gathered his clothes, quickly getting dressed before heading home. The drive had seemed like it would never end. He had never felt so horrible in his life. Not only did he stoop to Mason’s level, but he was hurting Mason and Kiara –if they even cared that is, but most importantly he had hurt Cat too. Though this had made him realize that Mason must be some kind of monster –Mason had done things like this all the time and not once had he ever had shown any smidgen of remorse.

2.1 Life Goes On

It had been nearly six months since the unfortunate passing of his parents. The whole community, though sadly stricken when the news had come, had seemed to have moved on and forward with their lives. Matthew did too…in a way. He took part of his inheritance and bought a charming little modern two bedroom home on the banks of the Bridgeport Bay, with wall to floor ceilings, one just couldn’t beat that view –day or night.
He sat on his couch trying to concentrate long enough to watch the highlights of the afternoon football game and failing miserably.

“Oh Mason, what am I going to do with you.” He mouthed to himself as he peered down at the text on his phone.

Suddenly his jumbled thoughts were interrupted by loud clicking sounds on the hardwood floorboards. He looked over to see only a single pair of long, creamy white, silky legs strutting towards him. He slid himself into the adjacent chair allowing her to take her favorite seat in the house.

She sat down, politely crossing her legs before reaching to unlatch her heels –making herself at home. She glanced over in his direction and flashed him a smile. When he didn’t immediately return the gesture, her look quickly turned to concern.

“What is it Matty?” She said softly as she slipped out of her shoes. Matthew only shook his head from side to side.

“Now we both know that is a load of bull…” She said in a stern tone.

“It’s Mason.” He said softly. He didn’t look at her but he could just see her eyes rolling to the back of her head.

“Figures…” She said with an air of attitude.

“You know Matty…you need to let Mason live his own life…you can’t always come to the rescue, how will he ever get his shit straightened out if you are always there to clean up his mess!” She said –highly irritated.

“He’s my brother Kiara…I can’t just let him live in the streets.” Matthew replied.

“What do you mean…oh…no…please don’t tell me you’re….” She didn’t get to finish her sentence before he cut her off, defending Mason.

“It will only be for a little while, I promise…” Matthew said as he stood up to comfort Kiara. He pulled her into his arms and cupped her face in his hands.  He knew that this could only cause friction between them…but he would never be able to live with himself if he gave up on his own flesh and blood.

She smiled at him…but he knew deep down it wasn’t genuine. She wanted to do the right thing…she wanted to be supportive and welcoming…but Mason had almost worn out his welcome…and on more than one occasion. To Kiara…Matthew could never see that his own brother was a loser and a mooch, but Kiara…he couldn’t fool her.
Matthew dropped his hands to his sides and gently held Kiara’s in the palms.

“It will six to eight months max…I promise…I told him if he was staying here he had to get a job and help pay bills and put the rest away so that he could get his own place.” Matthew said to her.

“Guess he shouldn’t have blown his inheritance at the strip clubs…now should he have?” Kiara replied bitterly.

“Please Kiara; try to be a little compassionate…what if it was Olivia in this situation?” Matthew tried to reason with her.

“Don’t you compare my sister to him….” She hissed. Matthew shot her a look of discontentment.

“Fine…do what you want…but six months…I really can’t sit here and watch you let your brother make a fool of you any longer.” Was all she said as she snatched up her shoes and put them on , stomping out the door.

Matthew had never been the type to anger very easily…but since the passing of his parents his emotions had run wild. He had felt things he never though he would…anger…rage…utter saddness. He picked up the single most important piece of history that he had from his father. An autographed custom made Gibson Explorer played within his favorite band – Tom Jetty and The Heartseekers.

Everett had taken him to a concert when he was ten years old and backstage Tom Jetty had shook Matthew’s hand and signed the very guitar he played on in the concert and placed it in Matthew’s hands. Ever since that moment, music is where he found his freedom and his release.

Just as the sun had set behind the Bridgeport skyline, Matthew grazed his fingertips across the strings of the guitar, took in a deep breath and began to play.

"With my gaze caught in the deep blue,
I notice the way I think about you,
Curved lips I just can't disguise.
Hiding the lingering anger in my eyes.
Why is it so hard for me to decide?
which I need more?
Love...
Honor

I can't wake up
I'm standing on the edge going through the motions
Every day the same.
and I will take your whole world on my shoulders.
If that would only keep away the rain."

Matthew awoke that morning just after dawn, when the gentle rays of the sun had cast over him waking him from his slumber. Sluggishly he pushed the covers off himself waiting for Kiara to roll over and hit him. But nothing happened. Everything was quiet and still. He glanced over to see the side of the bed where she rested her head at night…untouched –the linens still neatly pressed across the mattress. The pillow still fluffed and in position. She had slept last night, he was sure –it just wasn’t in this bed.

Normally it wouldn’t bother him –Kiara not coming home. This morning it did bother him. The way she stomped out of the house…how she had made his brother seem like such a burden –such a waste of space. It had opened his eyes to the demeanor of not only Mason…but her as well. He swung his leg over the bed and propped himself up. The morning sun had cast a bronzing glow upon his skin, still trying to adjust –he glanced over at the clock. Just after six-thirty.

Matthew sauntered down the stairs, still rubbing his eyes from his restless night of sleep. His mind was a jumbled mess of what ifs…and how cans…why not’s…so many things were still resting heavily inside –unspoken.

He opened the door and reached down to grab the morning paper, when he noticed her rust box parked alongside the front yard. Why does she always do that! There is a driveway for crying out loud! He said to himself as he turned and went back inside.

He placed the newspaper on the counter as he watched Kiara placing breakfast in the oven. You’re not going to ask her where she was last night Matthew…

“So…early morning?” He said. She nodded her head and closed the oven.

“Where were you last night…you didn’t come home?” He said. SHIT! The word echoed in his head.

“I stayed over at Olivia’s, is that okay with you?” She snipped.

“It would have been nice if you would have called or something.” He replied.

“Sorry didn’t know I needed your permission…” She said sarcastically.

“No, you don’t, but its common courtesy.” He spat back.

“Listen Matthew…” She said in a harsh tone. Right then and there he knew it wasn’t going to be good. She never called him Matthew –unless she was angry.

“I am not much in the mood for an argument; you can do as you please…there for I will do as I please. You want your brother to stay here and mooch off of you…fine by me. But don’t think for one moment that anything will be ‘different’ this time around.” She said.

“I understand he is your brother, but you need to wake up and smell the coffee here…he is a grown adult, capable of making his own decisions…and the decisions he makes…he should be the one dealing with the consequences…not you. This is beginning to get a little out of hand and you just can’t see that.” She added.

“HE IS MY BROTHER! He needs help…I won’t turn my back on him!” Matthew shouted.

“It’s not okay to turn your back on your brother…but it’s okay to turn your back on me? I see how it is Matthew. I will give you and your brother some space to deal with things. You may not be able to wash your hands of his mess…but I am. I can’t handle it any longer it’s not only tearing us apart…but you as well…and I can’t just sit here and watch you fall apart.” She replied. She kissed him softly on the cheek before walking out of the house.

Matthew stood there dumbfounded in the kitchen, his mind filled with so many emotions and his hands filled with a plate of burnt waffles. He expected so much out of life…but feeling like this day in and day out…wasn’t one of them.

There was a light tap at the door. Matthew threw on a pair of sweats and jogged to the front hall. He opened it hoping that it would be Kiara…and that she had come to her senses. But when he opened the door and saw Mason standing on the front porch with a shit-eating grin on his face –he sighed.

“Hey bro! I’m home!” Mason said happily as he placed his bag on the ground to greet his brother. Matthew shot him a half-hearted smile, raising his eyebrows at him. This was going to be a long six months.
